AHI Congratulates Greek Ambassador on Prestigious Award
WASHINGTON, DC — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) congratulates Ambassador of Greece to the United States Vassilis Kaskarelis upon being selected "Diplomat of the Year" by the prestigious World Affairs Council. "We congratulate Ambassador Kaskarelis for his well-deserved honor," said AHI President Nick Larigakis. "During his diplomatic career, Ambassador Kaskarelis has achieved many milestones, and in Washington, the ambassador has worked tirelessly to advance Greece's position amid an ever-changing and challenging global environment. We have enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy, working in cooperation with Ambassador Kaskarelis and his staff to strengthen relations between the United States and Greece." Ambassador Kaskarelis accepted the honor on May 4, 2011, in Los Angeles. He was selected "Diplomat of the Year" among 180 of his peers currently serving in the United States.
